5I would like to welcome you all to the winter semester 2025/26 at Deggendorf Institute of Technology. More than 1,000 employees and professors work every day to offer you all an optimal environment for learning and living. After all, a campus is not just a place for lecture halls and laboratories. It is also a place for intellectual and intercultural exchange. We work together and, of course, we celebrate together. Your student life should offer you up-to-date academic knowledge, practical and professional experience, as many insights as possible into entrepreneurship and business start-ups as well as a multitude of new national and international contacts. And who knows, there are now also two doctoral centres at DIT: DigiTech (digital technologies and their application) and NITRO (sustainable intelligent technologies for resourceoptimised production). So nothing stands in the way of your personal development in any direction. We will be happy to accompany, support and motivate you.I would also like to invite you to help shape our campus life. Be it in one of the student associations, in the student convention or at the many events that take place on our campuses every year. By starting your studies at one of our teaching locations in Deggendorf, Pfarrkirchen or Cham, you are now part of our large DIT family with more than 9,000 students. That means young people from around 100 nations. Our university network includes almost 200 universities in 60 countries. Many small, medium-sized and large companies are our teaching and research partners and thus a promise of successful knowledge and technology transfer as well as excellent links to the labour market. The expertise you acquire at our university will undoubtedly be in great demand in the future. All in all, we are delighted that you are now here at DIT.
